Insurance and The 3 C’s of Life: Choices, Chances and Changes

When it comes to insurance, the thought that “the only thing you can count on in life is change” takes on special meaning. As you look back on 2014, what have been the 3 C’s (choices, chances and changes) of your life? With those choices, chances and changes in mind, now take a few minutes to look ahead to your plans for the new year.

What choices, chances and changes will you make next year?

It is important to work with an Insurance agent that understands the 3 C’s of life: choices, chances and changes, to help you to be aware of and minimize your risks of a possible financial loss.

Some of the major choices in life are to start your own business, get married, have children, buy a home, buy a car for your teenager, and to make other significant investments. All of these choices will definitely need to be discussed with your insurance agent. Before you get your heart set on a choice, it is usually best to have that discussion with your insurance agent to make sure that you are aware of the options, costs involved and possible financial risks.

“But until a person can say deeply and honestly, “I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,” that person cannot say, “I choose otherwise.” ― Stephen R. Covey

We are all affected by our choices and the choices of those around us. What does this have to do with insurance?  EVERYTHING! For example, someone makes a choice to have one more drink, and then they choose to drive. Now, let’s say that same person chooses to have minimum or no car insurance. If they hit you, the choices both of you made in insurance coverage will have a great impact on your life. Therefore, making wise and safe choices protects us from being at greater risk.

“Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.”  ―Eric Roth

Most would agree that life comes with no guarantees. Some chances, such as going into business with a friend, marrying the love of your life, adopting a child or buying your dream home do not come along everyday. These are opportunities of a lifetime and yet, they all expose you to risk. That risk can be minimized by making sure that you have the proper insurance. So, go ahead and take a chance, just make sure that you have the right insurance coverage for the life you want to continue to enjoy.

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” William Arthur Ward

Throughout our life we need to adjust our sails, because our circumstances and the people in our lives change. Such as, our children growing up and having families of their own. Yet, most of us do not like an unexpected change in circumstances. It can make people angry, confused and insecure.
